What We Believe

The Reformation
The Five Solas
These five Latin phrases summarize the core beliefs of the Protestant Reformation and remain central to our faith today.
Sola Scriptura
Scripture Alone
The Bible is the sole infallible source of authority for Christian faith and practice. We believe Scripture is God-breathed, inerrant, and sufficient.
Sola Gratia
Grace Alone
Salvation is entirely the gift of God's grace, not earned through human effort. We are saved by grace through faith, and this is not of ourselves—it is the gift of God.
Sola Fide
Faith Alone
Justification is received through faith alone, not by works. Faith is the instrument by which we receive the righteousness of Christ credited to us.
Solus Christus
Christ Alone
Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Soli Deo Gloria
To God Alone Be the Glory
All of salvation—from beginning to end—is for the glory of God alone. We exist to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

The Doctrines of Grace
We hold to what are commonly called the “Doctrines of Grace” or the “Five Points of Calvinism,” which emphasize God's sovereignty in salvation.
Total Depravity
Sin has affected every part of human nature—mind, will, and affections. Apart from God's grace, no one seeks God or can come to Him of their own will.
Unconditional Election
God chose His people before the foundation of the world, not based on any foreseen merit or faith, but solely according to His sovereign will and good pleasure.
Limited Atonement
Christ's death did fully and effectively accomplish the salvation of all whom God has chosen. His sacrifice actually saves; it does not merely make salvation possible.
Irresistible Grace
When God calls His elect to salvation, He overcomes their resistance and makes them willing to come to Him. The Holy Spirit effectively draws them to Christ.
Perseverance of the Saints
Those whom God has truly saved will persevere in faith to the end. God preserves His people, and they cannot finally fall away from a state of grace.
